In the early hours of October 26, 2023, Palestinian journalist Duaa Sharaf, host for the Radio Al-Aqsa, was killed with her daughter in a airstrike on her home in Al-Taj residential building in Al-Yarmouk in Gaza City. Her death was confirmed by Voice of Al Aqsa Radio in a Telegram post.
Her husband Mahmoud Haniya told the press that 37 of Duaa's relatives his in-laws, were killed in the same massacre. Her cousin journalist Yossof Sharaf reported the full list of their relatives who were killed which included Duaa's parents, her two sisters, five of her cousins and their children.
Her remains and those of her son Obaida and other relatives were recovered by the Palestinian Civil Defense after nearly three years on September 9th 2026, from under the rubble or the building where they were killed.
