Archivist Notes
Killed in an Israeli assassination airstrike targeting Anas Al-Sharif in his Al Jazeera press tent. The airstrike killed 6 people including 5 Al Jazeera staff, and journalist Muhammad Al-Khalidi.
Ibrahim was not only a journalist, but also a volunteer paramedic with the Emergency Medical Services in northern Gaza after having studied nursing at college.
He was a close childhood friend of journalist Anas Al-Sharif and was his assistant cameraman. According to Ibrahim's mother, when Anas was hired by Al-Jazeera, Anas had suggested for the channel to hire Ibrahim as well as he was instrumental to filming his reports.
Veteran journalist Imad Zakout, who mentored Anas Al-Sharif, persuaded Ibrahim to learn video editing so he can produce visual segments for Anas’s reports. Imad noted that Ibrahim turned to self-learning through YouTube and mastered editing in a short time.
