Full Name: Salam Khalil Mohammed Mima | سلام خليل محمد ميمة
She was killed along with her husband and three children in an Israeli airstrike on their home in Al Na’ja, in the eastern area of Jabalia Refugee Camp in northern Gaza, on October 10, 2023. Their bodies were recovered from the rubble three days later: her husband Muhammad al-Masry, their two sons Hadi (7) and Ali (5), and their daughter Sham (2).
The death of Salam Mayma, a freelance journalist, was confirmed following the strike. She served as head of the Women Journalists Committee at the Palestinian Media Assembly, an organization dedicated to supporting Palestinian journalists. According to the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate and the Palestinian Authority’s official news agency Wafa, her body was recovered on October 13 after initially being reported killed in the airstrike. Reports indicated she was pulled from the rubble that day and subsequently pronounced dead.
Her friend Nisreen Razayne told The Post she was “an angel,” a loving mother and a supportive colleague. “She was not a military person to kill. My mind can’t comprehend anymore.”
